FIM instrument is a basic indicator used dusring rehabilitation to track changes in a patient. During the process of restoring and regaining physical strength, functional change is targeted to assess the outcome measure in the patient. FIM is designed to assist physicians to examine individuals during this stage by comparing the health statuses before and after (Gautheron, Grand, Bethoux & Calmels, 2011). The tool established a mean to collect data on motor and cognitive domains in a consistent manner. There are 18 items in the FIM assessment where each is reviewed on a seven-point continuum.
