FIM is designed to assist physicians to examine individuals during this stage by comparing the health statuses before and after (Gautheron, Grand, Bethoux & Calmels, 2011). The tool established a mean to collect data on motor and cognitive domains in a consistent manner. There are 18 items in the FIM assessment where each is reviewed on a seven-point continuum.
