The key is doing what Anthropologist do and evaluate others using either a emic perspective which is how an insider sees the culture, or and etic perspective which is the view of an outsider and their perspective. “Religion provides guidelines about how human life should be properly conducted and what values should be held. In so doing, it motivates people to follow the customs of their society even in the absence of practical insights about how their actions may benefit it” (Crapo, 2013). The challenge can be looking at other cultures without having a biased opinion, that is especially hard when religion comes into play most people automatically judge others based on their beliefs.
