NameSchoolSubjectDateResearch Proposal: Literature during the American Civil WarIntroductionThe American Civil War had a great impact on the American literature. The war served as a powerful organizing division in the American work of literature while having a profound impact as time progressed. The writers experienced the war in their daily routines for example in their work, in their relationships, and their family lives. Most of them shared these experiences while others shared the general occurrences in the country during that time of the war. The war changed how their beliefs and how they wrote. A survey done by Fuller produces a list of writers who existed before, during, and after the war, and it shows that the war had a great impact in their pieces (102). In general, the Civil War contributed significantly to the literary front. Problem statementMost of the recent researches show that the Civil War had less or no impact in the American literature. Some argue that there is no relationship that exists between history and literature. Other works have been much interested in the way literature shaped the course of the Civil War while ignoring the opposite; how the same war affected the works of literature.
