Imposing the death penalty on someone can also be subcategorized into racially and socioeconomically motivating factors that could be deemed unethical. To further understand the ethical arguments of capital punishment, the viewpoints of an ethical egoist and a social contract ethicist will be analyzed, and how it relates to the professional and familial duties. A supporter of capital punishment may believe it is necessary to impose such a punishment on a person who commits a horrendous crime to hopefully prevent others from committing similar crimes.
