Several controversies can be identified that surrounding private prisons. Firstly, the way illegal immigrants are handled in private prisons is an issue of concern. Some of the illegal immigrants who are caught trying to enter the U.S. are sent to private prisons where they are held before being deported. Notably, these prisons are supposed to take care of the immigrants before they are deported back to their country of origin. However, the conditions in some of these prisons are deplorable.
