PRACTICAL I: TRANSVERSE VIBRATION OF A BEAMSubmission date: One Week after a day of Practical Submission method: ethuto in PDF format. Aim of the practicalThe aim of the experiment is to determine the first natural frequency of vibration of a beam. The experimental frequency must then be compared with the calculated theoretical frequency.Self-study: Chapter 23: Longitudinal and transverse vibrations Source: Khurmi, R.S. & Gupta, J. K., 2005, Theory of Machines, Eurasia Publishing House.Experimental setup and descriptionA CoCo-80 apparatus is used to determine the natural frequency of the beam under free transverse vibration. It is applied to measure and analyse the vibration of a cantilever beam. Figure SEQ Figure \* ARABIC 1: CoCo 80 measuring instrument, accelerometer, and is cantilever beam. One end of the beam is fixed and on the other end accelerometer is mounted. Such accelerometer has a mass of 26 g and mass of the beam M is 244.1 g. The beam has total length of L and cantilever or unsupported length of L1. Dimension b and t shown in Figure 1 represents width and
