Criminology has many theories, however, this paper will critique mainly the social structure theory. Social structure theory suggests that the socio-economic structure of individuals is more likely to impact their chances of becoming criminals. I strongly, agree with this narrative. Several reports have shown that individuals in lower socioeconomic classes are more likely to be exposed to homicides compared to those in the middle and upper socioeconomic classes. The chances of an individual who cannot achieve success in a proper way of committing a homicide are very high compared to a person who has his or her career on track.
