During the Second World War, Japanese soldiers used Korean women as sex slaves. This caused serious physical and psychological harm to the victims. The Korean government has for so long been demanding the Japanese government to compensate the victims (comfort women) and also offer a sincere apology. However, in the agreement reached in 2015, the Japanese government agreed to compensate the victims but did not offer an apology which led to the current president Moon Je-in abandoning the agreement. Numerous attempts have been made to try and solve the issue but no progress has been reached. However, after studying the issue I managed to come up with some recommendations that can help resolve the issue.
