This often makes the customers to unnecessarily spend more on goods hence exploitation of customers. In addition, the supermarkets defraud customers through offers. The offers have the psychological effect of making the customers think that such items are cheap to buy. However, the supermarkets exploit the customers given that often the goods on offer are either approaching expiry. This becomes costly to the customers because they realize of such fact after purchasing the items. In addition, the supermarket often benefits from the high revenue associated with the offers given that customers who buy more are awarded one extra item for free. However, the customer is disadvantaged because he ends up buying bulk goods, which he does not necessarily need. What is more, the supermarkets often deliberately mislabel products to defraud the customers (Connor n.p.).
