Opposite of euphoria, the word Dysphoria is derived from the Greek word (dysphoros), which is comprised of the words (dus), which is the somewhat equivalent to the English use of dis- or un but denotes an opposition or injurious difficulty, and (pherein), which means to bear; and therefore, is characterized as a profound state of unease or dissatisfaction which is difficult to emotionally or psychologically bear.
