DNA research in Medicine and criminal justiceAbstractThe research aims at justifying an extensive study and implementation of DNA testing and DNA based solutions in solving problems in medicine and criminal justice. According to literature review, DNA study provides hope to the treatment of diseases such as cancer, HIV/AID, X-linked hydrocephalus among others. The research will review literature related to the use of DNA testing to determine the current success in DNA study.BackgroundAll living organisms are unique because they contain unique information carriers known as the DNA. DNA is the acronym for Deoxyribonucleic acid. It is made up of two closely entwined strings of small molecules. The DNA carries the biological instructions that are responsible for the features of the organism such as the hair color and texture, eye color, skin color and height. DNA can be tested by any piece or fluid of living organisms such as blood, skin, hair, semen, bone, or fingernail. The study of the DNA has been helpful in many fields including the criminal justice to prove the innocence or guilty of a suspect, and medical research, in the treatment of diseases arising as the result of changes on the DNA.
