Ethics refers to the moral guidelines that direct the decision making in an organization or individuals within an organization as right, wrong or fair. Some business organizations have codes of conduct that guide the decision making process, and therefore, do not only rely on the managers’ instincts, religion or culture. Failure to abide with the ethical standards may be punishable by law. Corporate Social Responsibility on the contrary, refers to the duties of an organization to its stakeholders, who include the society at large. The CSR are motivated by the fact that, businesses take from the society, and it is therefore socially right to give part of their earnings back to the society.
