The Chinese believe that a man who claims to be leading but has no followers is just strolling. For instance, Adolf Hitler is considered among the most influential individuals in history. He managed to unite the Germans around the Nazi philosophy at a time when the people had lost hope, making them believe that the Aryan race was the best race on earth. He convinced the Germans not only that they could conquer the world, but why they needed to do so. Finally, he gave them a mental picture of Germany after conquering the world. Hitler was also charismatic. His personal interaction with his followers, his ability to identify with their problems, and listening skills made the people like him. In my experience, I find trait to be influential in political and religious leaders. Being a member of the Roman Catholic Church, I understand how difficult it is to convince young people to become nuns, monks, and priests.
