I refute this ideology regarding the origin of the music because Jazz music was developed during the twentieth century through merging African and European music traditions. Furthermore, the emergence of Jazz music in New Orleans was due to the fusion of various forms of musical traditions from Europe and Africa. This contradicts the articles notion that Jazz is African diaspora music.Jazz borrows several musical elements from both Europe and African cultures. For instance, from the African music culture, jazz acquired rhythm, blues that enhance its quality and adopted an African way of playing musical instruments.
