Childcare: Case Study SallyPatient care is dependent not only on medical treatment but also on the state of mind of the patient, and their understanding that all care provided is in their best interest. While the state of mind mainly ensures the ability to withstand the rigors of illness, it also provides ease of treatment administration, creating an atmosphere that enhances health improvement. Once these aspects dominate the patient’s cognitive process their communication with healthcare professionals reflects their understanding of the importance of the care provided as well as the impacts of the same. In the case of child patients, a clear understanding of these aspects may rest squarely on the healthcare providers in cases where families cannot be reached. In Sally’s case, my response will take into consideration that she loves arts and crafts, spends most of her time alone, does not have family around, and that we had spent two hours together this morning. Therefore, my response to Sally’s request will be to pay her a short visit before leaving the facility for the day.
