As a concerned citizen, I am happy that the bill addresses one of my major concerns in health care; cost transparency. For many years, Americans have been subjected to an opaque system when seeking for health care services. An American is unable to specify or account for the cost of services and the nature of services provided. Such aspect has made many citizens vulnerable to unscrupulous and dubious health care facilities and practitioners.Given that the health care system in the country is largely profit-based, the lack of transparency has made many patients vulnerable to overly exaggerated costs of services and costs of prescription drugs(Dickman, Himmelstein, & Woolhandler, 2017). The health care insurers have also fallen victims of exaggerated cost of health care. Therefore, I am overly excited that the proposed bill address such concerns.
