Examine How Power, Status, And Influence Operate As Organizational Dynamics

LeadershipAs a civilian contracting in military organizations, my goals with respect to power, status and influence exclude in power or influence flowing from any formal authority. My goals are limited to power that flows from status and influence. In the next five years, I will cultivate power as a capacity to exert by through influence resulting from change in the attitudes, beliefs in my abilities as an independent contractor. My goal is to be able to develop abilities to secure commitment to my contacting objectives through persuasion and reverent power. I will improve my status and influence by seeking opportunities to take charge of situations and derive authority from those with hierarchical authority in the areas I am contracted to work. In the next ten years, I will have built my status and influence in defense contracting by becoming a source of authoritative knowledge in defense projects.
