From a business perspective, should we allow businesses to act in whatever ways management determines is appropriate in the circumstance without legal interference and let market forces decide what is right or wrong Increasingly, laws require people to act in a certain way, according to certain moral norms. Do you believe the law should fill this role Government interference in business should be for the purpose of establishing and enforcing standards of conducting legitimate business but should not be for regulating the economic affairs of a business. There are two types of legal interference. One is forbidding certain activities under criminal law and second is regulating business activities, whichare not forbidden. I believe legal interference should require businesses to act in a certain way for several reasons. If left to free market and free decisions of their managers such corporations have the opportunity to exploit society as they pursue the profit motive. Therefore, the government should be able to regulate the organizations it creates in society. The inability of business to adhere to the basic principles of profit maximization and non-violation of the rights of others justifies government regulation of business. Businesses managers cannot be left to regulate themselves on
