Paul and Barnabas are welcomed to the church by the congregation, apostles and elders, and the two explains what Jesus had done through them. During the meeting, some believers, not identified by their names rose to demand that all the Gentiles who had received the Holy Spirit must be circumcised like their Jewish counterparts (Lüdemann, 1984). And, it is at this point that the elders and apostles went into a private discussion to debate the matter. On the contrary, the entire visit in Galatians 2 is private. Paul approaches the high society “privately”, to teach them the message. The private nature of the visit is evident in the absence of the visit in the book of Luke, meaning that Luke did not see the reason to mention the private meeting. Subject of the visit In both chapters, Paul touches on the issue of circumcision among the Jews and the Gentiles, and emphasizes that. The visit to Jerusalem described in Acts 15 is authorised by the elders on the church of Antioch, while
