The young people are taking too long to launch their adult life. In two sitcoms, “My dad says” and “Big Lake” have the two twenty year old sons who can’t take care of themselves and are seen moving back with their parents. In “My dad says”, a twenty year old son can’t make it on his own as a blogger and in “Big Lake”, a twenty something year old financial advisor loses his Wall Street job and moves back home to rural Pennsylvania. The film is just an example of many young people who are failing to grow up fast and cater for themselves. The economic slump is singled out as one contribution to why young people can’t make it on their own
