Week 5 Top of FormBottom of FormObjectivesWeek 5: Remedies to Human Rights ViolationsIntroductionDon't find fault, find a remedy.- Henry FordWhen you think of human rights violations it may be tempting to lay blame on others or focus on the issue from an emotional standpoint. To stop human rights violations, concrete remedies must be developed. Last week you looked at the complex system of responding to human rights violations. As it turns out, responding to human rights violations is only one part of addressing them. Responses to human rights violations are different than remedies. Responses are initial actions to violations that typically involve the coordination of resources. Remedies differ from responses in that they seek to restore justice to victims through concrete actions that may include provision of money, reconciliation, restoration, healing and prosecution of violators. This week you will explore remedies to human rights violations. You also will submit your final Capstone Project.Learning ObjectivesBy the end of this week, you should be able to:Evaluate remedies to human rights violationsIntegrate and apply human rights, rule of law, and international justice concepts to complete a Capstone ProjectPlease proceed to the Learning Resources.ResourcesResources Top of FormBottom of FormAccess ResourcesLearning
