Vernon called the family of Khalid, “dirty Arabs” and even tried to run over the mother with his car. He was arrested for trying to kill his neighbor with a car. Upon his release on a bond, he went ahead and shot the son, Khalid Jabara on the veranda of their house in Tulsa. The extent of hate can easily be felt in the actions of the 61, year-old Vernon Majors. Killing a fellow, human being simply because he or she comes from a different ethnic group is the most heinous height of intolerance (Hauser 2).The case of Vernon Major is just an example of the difficult time that Arab-Americans face in the United States.
