The film is directed by Michael Curtiz and performers Rick (Humphrey Bogart) Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) and her husband Victor Laszlo features Murray Burnett and Joan Alison. The film is outstanding because it went on to win the Academy award for best picture and its director was selected as best director. The film is in black and white and features a romantic dilemma story line. (Paul Henreid). The most distinctive feature of the movie is camera movement and shot framing. In the opening scenes when two German couriers are killed, we are shown a man who tries to flee from the police but is gunned down. An officer retrieves papers from the dead man passes them on to another officer who is close to the camera. The second officer holds the papers in a manner, which allows the audience to see the content of the letters. The camera does a close-up of the second officer’s hand for a few seconds.
