The documentary requirements for freight movement in the NAFTA region are much similar to the documentary requirements for freight movement in international trade.Airfreight shipments must have Air Waybills (AWB), which is the contract between the shipper and airline. The AWB should state the terms and conditions of air transportation and is non- negotiable.Sea freight is processed through an Ocean Bill of Lading (B/L). An ocean Bill of Lading is both a receipt for cargo in transit, and a transport contract between the exporter and the ocean carrier.
