Spectro Electronics managed to expand into the global market at first through global agents and later, by acquisition of its weaker competitors. However, in one acquisition deal, Spectro Electronics acquired ElectroSource, one of its biggest competitors. The two companies had very different business culture. While Spectro Electronics preferred an ethical approach to doing business, ElectroSource only focused on the end result, regardless of the means; some which contradicted the Spectro’s ethics.Some employees from ElectroSource have managed to win a massive contract under the Spectro brand, worth $100 million through unethical means (Schepers, 2005).
