9.1: Connecting DotsPeck’s article and Mazama’s video raise very significant issues that affected the black people significantly. The concept of racism and making AFRICAN-Americans a minority group in the United States is greatly highlighted in the article. The injustices that black people experienced under the hands of the white community are quite palpable. It is worrying to see how, the white race was determined to keep the black race minor and second class. The injustices and racism demonstrated the potential and ability that African-Americans possessed had them been given freedom. If the black people had equal power and privilege as the white race, they would have done great things that would compete effectively with the white race.Therefore, the white race having sensed the potential and ability of the black people, they employed racism as clear weapon to suppress and prevent the black race from making major milestones in their lives. The concept of oppression and unnecessary killings were aimed at discouraging black people from demanding for their rights and finding value in the culture as black people.
