These dreams formed the basis of the Declaration of Independence, which stated that "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”. Therefore, the government had an obligation to protect every individual’s rights and freedom. As the result of this promise, America attracted people from all divides, with dreams of achieving their deepest desires that they could not fulfil elsewhere. However, in 2018, the ambitions of many hardworking Americans remain shattered as the wealth of the nation becomes concentrated in the hands of a few wealthy individuals. To the majority, the America dream will remain just a dream. Majority of American believe that the American dream remains elusive. About two centuries since the declaration of independence, Martin Luther King declared that his deepest desire was that his descendants have equal opportunities to realise their dreams like their white counterparts. However, since his iconic
