The phrase human rights violations before taking this class would have me envisioning countries where the people do not have adequate shelter, food, or water.However, now that I am in this course, I have realized that there are numerous instances of human rights violations within our country. After doing more research, I have come to realize that I myself was a victim of a human rights violation concerning women’s rights related to domestic violence abuse. From my own experience, as well as from reading the stories of the women from Louisiana featured in the Fragmented and Unequal article, it is clear that domestic violence in the United States needs to be taken more seriously and the offenders need to be adequately punished.If you have time, please read the article I posted the link to below.
