Discussion: Emotional IntelligenceEmotional intelligence refers to way people use their emotions and how that emotion affect their lives. The qualities of emotional intelligence that I identify with as my strength are self-awareness and empathy. Understanding your feelings and emotions is the most important lesson that I have learned with emotional intelligence. Recognizing emotions before they affect the way you respond to people is very important, especially at the workplace. People have different issues that they encounter in their ordinary lives. Therefore emotions or feelings are the last thing a consumer wants from the workplace. In that regard, self-awareness has enabled me to maintain my professionalism even if, I feeling like exploding emotionally.In the work scenario setting, I work in a communication company that expects us to always smile and welcome customers to our premises. Self-awareness has enabled me to control my emotions and focus on my work, especially when explaining to a customer some process that he or she needs to implement before accessing the service that he or she wants. Not, every day, do I feel like smiling and welcoming customers with a happy face. Nevertheless, with self awareness, I am able to serve my customers professionally without letting
