In this paper we shall analyse social stereotyping and how one can move beyond the psychological limits imposed by social stereotyping in the context of Flannery O’Connor’s short story titled A Good Man is Hard to Find.In the following sections I will be using the Marxist approach to analyse how events in the short story reflect the modern society. The characters in the story will be divided into social-economic classes of ‘haves’ and ‘have-nots’.The Marxist perspective views differences in the social-economic classes as differences between those who have and those who do not have control over the economic and human resources.
