Proposal 1Proposal for a New Healthcare SystemAxia College University of Phoenix Proposal 2 Our current healthcare system is flawed. There are numerous uninsured and underinsured individuals in the United States and the numbers are still increasing every day. There are 10 to 15 million people in the United States who cannot afford health insurance for themselves or their family (Donohue, 2008). Everyone should be able to afford healthcare coverage regardless of his or her income. Some may have to pay more than others but every individual should be covered. With the medical care need on the rise, the government needs to fix the broken healthcare system. Making health insurance available to everyone at an affordable price is one way to fix the healthcare system. Services like regular doctor appointments, laboratory work, and other basic needs would be covered by a basic insurance. However, for more advanced services the cost for insurance would be slightly higher. Things like surgery, therapy, long-term care, and inpatient or outpatient hospital stays would be the services that individuals would have to purchase the more advanced insurance.
